Joyland Festival is known for its illustration-centric visuals. But they also put so much care on how each event’s design system is composed. We make sure that each event has its own characteristic design system.
This time the concept was ‘Balinese Wonderland’. We work with Balinese illustrator Ode Baskara to convey the wonderland feel. In Bali, there is a legend called Wong Samar, creatures that are unseen. Ode tries to recreate this folklore through his illustration.
The design system itself is a one-row grid inspired from reliefs found in Candi (temples) all over Jawa and Bali.
Joyland Bali took place across three days at Peninsula Island, The Nusa Dua, Bali in March 2023.
